Treatment Phase
Each CAREpath client is assigned a personal Nurse Case Manager who provides in-depth knowledge and works with the client every step of the way during the cancer experience. Confidentiality is ensured at all times.
Throughout the treatment phase, the Nurse Case Manager - an experienced and accredited oncology nurse backed up by leading oncology specialists - navigates the client telephonically to provide:
- Supportive counseling for the client and family throughout all treatment phases
- Medical best practices advice, answers to client's questions and explanations of tests and treatments based on the most current evidence-based guidelines developed by world-leading cancer clinicians
- Questions to ask doctors during visits and check-ups
- Expert assessment of cancer treatment approaches and guidance to alternative treatments, if required
- Access to preeminent cancer expertise and options within Canada
- Constant guidance and advice throughout treatment to keep side effects to a minimum and ensure speedy recovery
