Carepath Cancer Program
A cancer diagnosis is stressful for anyone. The uncertainty, the ordeal of going through biopsies or other diagnostic tests and waiting for the results can be frightening. Once you receive a cancer diagnosis, your life changes. You are dealing with multiple tests and medical appointments, unfamiliar terms, and treatment options/decisions while continuing to manage your already busy life.
If only you had a knowledgeable and compassionate professional to guide you through this process.

Thankfully, Carepath Can Help
Our nurse case managers have 20+ years of experience in oncology nursing, so they’ve guided many other clients through the journey.
From knowing how to navigate the healthcare system to figuring out what treatment options are right for you; our team can help you gain more confidence in working with your health team. Whether the treatment is for you or, equally scary, your spouse or children, we consider ourselves as a partner in your health. We help advise you on the kinds of questions you can and should ask your doctor and connect you with support services in your area.
We can even help you manage the emotional side, such as advising on how and when to share information with your children.
Our clinicians are knowledgeable about local community support available to you and your family. They understand the myriad of options out there and can recommend the best fit for your unique circumstances.
Peace of Mind
In a time of uncertainty, we give you the peace of mind that comes with knowing you are getting the best information, guidance and support from a reliable source. Our expert team can help you understand your diagnosis, explain diagnostic tests, and, when needed, access one of the members of our Medical Oncology Advisory Board to review your medical records and ensure you are receiving the treatment based on best medical practices.
We can even help you manage the emotional side, such as advising on how and when to share information with your children.

What we offer
-
Our cancer care support begins with a complete assessment to help your nurse case manager understand your diagnosis and your life.
-
Then we set priorities based on your goals, personalized to you and what is going on in your life.
- Need to figure out how to share your diagnosis with your children or employer or how to get to appointments when you live alone?
- Need to know what options might be available in terms of working during your treatments?
We’ve helped clients figure out the answers to all of these questions and more.
-
We arrange regularly scheduled appointments at your convenience so that that you have consistent care and a dependable plan, whether you need it for weeks or months. Most clients begin with consultations every week or two, then move to monthly as treatment resolves. But the client guides the process, and we are there with you as you need us.
-
Your treatment plan is confidential and tailored to your needs. We even help you create a new life care plan when you’re returning to health. And a return-to-work plan when the time comes. Please be assured that we will not share any of your information with your employer or your organization without your permission.

Many clients say that once they’ve connected with Carepath, they wish they had done so sooner. Don’t forget that even as you’re at the start of your journey, just finding a diagnosis, we can help.
Anyone in the member’s immediate family (including children aged 12-26 who are dependents and in school) can access our cancer support program. Connection to pediatric services can also be facilitated when required.
